Kanya Iwana is an Indonesian director, writer, and photographer. From early life, she was immersed in the creative arts, including dance, theater, and creative writing. While her BFA is in Performing Arts, she developed her passions behind the camera, rekindling her love for filmmaking. In 2016, she received a full scholarship from the Indonesian Cultural Administration to attend a one-year intensive program in Directing and Producing from New York Film Academy. Upon program completion in 2017, she pursued a career in commercial directing and photography.

Through her extensive training and multi-hyphenated career experience, she has created works strong in tone and spirit, giving an immediate recognition of identity. She has elicited the interests of brands such as Dior, Nike, and Cirôc, as well as world-renowned publications, shooting covers for Time and Rolling Stone. She is committed to developing a larger, more experiential body of work.
